I am removing the tranny from my 63 since it went out a couple of days ago. I was wondering after you pull the side covers off how do you pull the axle tubes and axles out?? The tranny I got is from a bus, what do I need to do to make the car go forward in four gears instead of backwards in four gears? Do I just turn the diff gears around or what? Thanks for the help.

That is a fairly complex conversion as the ring gear inside the transaxle would have to be reversed. Look for a dune/sand/rail buggy site that may document a similar conversion.

I have already flipped the carrier over, and have adjusted the backlash to spec. Now I just need to get the old tranny out.

All you really need to do to get it out is to take it loose at the nosecone mount (shifter end), unhook shift linkage, axle tube to spring plate bolts, brake cables & lines, clutch cable & ground strap, starter then pull the two 27mm rear mount bolts & slide it out.
