My front and rear bumpers (Plastic?) have stress cracks (I was told)in the clear coat? and are faded and dull, Otherwise rest of cars paint is fine. what are my options to get the shine back and remove the cracks?

Actually fiberglass, the only way is probably to repaint those parts, but pics would help....

It's just plastic... take some pics. Might be able to touch it up, depends how severre they are.

Just remove then and sand till all of the spiderwebs are gone and repaint. Can't "fix" paint that has spider webbed.

well guys here is my expertise area, and it is a Rubber type of material, these are very sensitave to work with but the cracks will go thru the clear cote thru the paint and to the bumper, well you have to strip the bumper and if you never have done this DONT! Just by experience, to much liquid stripper and you can mess it up and to much abrasive sandpaper and you can gouge it, So if you are just going to fill the cracks it WILL come back, you have to liquid strip the top coats off then sand with 220 or a 180 to get to the rubber, then take a special rubber sealer and primer and a special paint additave to redo the finished product. Its a lot of time consuming tweaking but if you dont do it right you will regret it, trust me I did Body and paint work for Major Chevy and Pontiac Dealerships for 20 yrs I have done a lot of these. My suggestion let a good Body Shop redo it for you. I know its going to be a bit pricey. Hope I didnt depress you too much.

or just buy a new nose cone and rear bumper, unpainted and have them profesionally painted to match your paint, it might be cheaper that way..check out year one for the parts or any 1 of the hundred aftermarket parts companies.

Well buying a new Nose and rear bumper is the best way to do it but it is pricey also, there is no inexpensive way to do this correctly. And if you do buy a new one be sure it is not one of those aftermarket repops they dont fit and align good, I know some will say they got a good one, I have found a few of those also but the majority of them dont fit.

a good bodyshop will re-finish your bumpers for you for a lot cheaper than buying new ones, and they'l look just as good..

I wouldnt recommend doing it yourself unless you'v got a fair amount of autobody experience
