clearcoat time for dupli-colour?

So I test-painted the hood for this Nova, and the dupli-colour metallic green looks good, but kinda flat, so I think a clearcoat is in order. I sprayed the final green coat last night (~10 hours ago)... I guess it's past the early time to clearcoat, how long should I wait now to prevent damage? I'm using Testor's clear...

If you are using Testors enamel in a can then DO NOT use it on Dupli-color. Dupli-color is lacquer and the enamel will react badly to the lacquer. you need to get some Dupli-color clear or some other lacquer clear.

Use Dupli-Color clear only. Tamiya also works ok.

Nice. Thanks for catching that heh. I'll have to buy a can. How long should I wait after that last colour coat though?

you dont have to wait with Duplicolor, i clear coat within 5 mins of painting most of the time, but you can do it the next day, the next week the next year lol , etc..... doesnt matter, you should not have any problems at all.
same with the clear coat.
same with the clear coat.

Awesome... slightly O/T, but I just have to note that of the two cars I've done Dupli-colour on, I've been really really impressed with how well it laid down. 2-3 mist coats, 2 final coats. Comes out ultra-smooth and seems to dry real quick too. Do any of you guys use Dupli-colour only? I'm starting to think I should, since it costs slightly less than a Tamiya spraybomb for slightly more paint :)

im a duplicolor guy. that is the only paint i have sprayed on my models. like james said, you can clear as soon as the last wet coat flashes. definately speeds up the process
