Valve problem?

I just bought a 98 EB Expedition. The previous owner just had the check engine light fixed. The idle is still high and it shakes a bit. Same as before when the light was on. He said it was a valve that needed to be fixed but I see no change. There is also a noise that sounds like a jackhamer in the glove box for the first minute or so after the car starts. Anybody know if these two issues may be related and leading to a bigger problem?

I would think that you have a vacuum leak.

The noise is very likely to be a leaking exhaust manifold gasket.

Turns out the transmission is slipping, hopefuly it is an easy fix. The noise the is compressor for the air suspention. About $260.00 - $300.00 to replace. Dealer suggested to wait until it goes to replace.
