'97 2.2 upgrades? MSD/intake/shifter/SS-lines?

Hello,
It's time to pay some attention to my wife's grocery-getter: a '97 Legacy L non-turbo 2.2 wagon 5-speed.

Basically, I am looking for the best bang-for-the-buck performance upgrades.

First: brakes. What's a good source for stainless steel brake hoses? Cross-drilled rotors would look great behind the 5-spoke wheels.

Secondly: Has anyone installed an MSD unit on this motor? Any gotchas? There are 4 coils in a pack near the front of the motor. Can someone please describe the installation process for the MSD 6A ignition box? Is a different MSD more suitable?

I'm also looking for some fat low-resistance plug wires (8mm or larger). Where's a good place to get those?

Third: Intake & exhaust. Is the Weapon-R the way to go for intake? Experiences?
How restrictive is the stock exhaust? Would that be a priority to improve?

I'd like a nice short shifter. Seems the B&M is well respected. Found that one for $150. I'd like to spend less if possible. What are you other guys using?

Any advice on computer chips/tweaks?

Thanks for any advice!

Intake wise your best bet is the snorkus delete, any thing else will just suck hot air into the engine, not good!

Im not too sure on the breaks but beefier ones can never hurt!

Shifters are a good investment although id rater get the head ported.

If you can find cam gears its prolly not a good investment it wont do much if anything!

Free flowing exhaust, even tuned headers (wont get the boxer burble :shakehead )

Snorkus (intake resonator) take it off and put a bigger pipe in!

K&N panel

Big front AND REAR sway bars, stiffer suspension

and if you have the money, port and polish!
