When I drive my 2000 Grand cherokee laredo, it drives fine, but sometimes the second gear gets stuck and the rmps go up to 3000 and then the car kicks into the next gear. it only happens once in a while, so I was wondering if it's the censors or the transmission filter or is the transmission getting messed up, but the car only has 50k miles. I checked the oil and it has enough.
thanks :uhoh:

Ay 50K its ready for a Trans fluid and filter change. Iam not sure if it would be sensor sounds more like valve body like 2-3 shift valve.

Thanks, I guess I can just change the transmission oil and filter, it wouldn't hurt.

I have the same problem with my '96 JGC limited. It revs up to well over 3000 at times, especially when it's cold. First and third are never problems. I don't know when the tranny fluid was changed last - bought the Jeep used. I'm a little reluctant to change it now because my dad had the fluid changed in his van after some 125,000 miles, and within a month or so, the whole transmission went. Not such a bad thing though - got a new Chrysler 300 out of it. I heard from somone (can't remember who anymore) that if your tranny fluid isn't changed regularly, it's better to not change it after a point. Is that true? My instincts tell me that a thorough flush would do it good, but then there's my dad's van. Any suggestions?
