With all the mods being advertised and discussed this forum creates a problem most of us cannot avoid, "Jealousy." :biggrin2: This jealousy then hooks the week of mind and wallet and starts the need to get more mods. The spending goes from the light mods, $1.50 for 4 light mod, to the expensive including $1k to $2k for tires and rims. And once you join the group of spenders you forget where to stop. Blendwizard found a way to join the spenders by getting others to justify his spending, "Look Hunny they did it..." :dunno: And it does not stop there when people like us are looking at Slowprocess and his engine mods and what they can do for you. :attention

So what happens to those whose wives or wallets finally call it to end and yet the jealousy is still driving you to spend? Who provides the support when the need to spend gets to be too great for the week at wallet and you have to sell old parts and grovel with the wife? Who breaks us of being jealous of others and what they have? :newburn:

Help, running out of money and time and needing Support!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can I fall into the lawyer trap and try to make Automotive Forums responsible for my need to spend, feeding my adiction, my dependency that they created?

Where does it end this insanity??????? :banghead: All said in jest, LOL, JK Where do the rest of you stand in this trap??????

Can you tell me how many steps there are in your recovery program and what step you are in? I don't think I heard you say you have a problem. Are you still in denial? Are you here to admit that you have a problem? How do you really feel? Is this a nationally supported group you belong to? :D

hi, my name is John and I'm a modaholic (hi, John). I am really anxious to hear back from Allen for my PCM. However, My 5.3L is staying right where it is until it blows. And frankly, it's only got 29k on it, and there are no funny noises or anything. My mods right now are for durability and MPG. If I pick up some more power along the way, so be it :grinyes:

Now John, don't feel threatened. We have all stood in your shoes at one time, some of us have got better and some have fallen out of control. Please tell us how you really feel....

See, anything mechanical i get, I do this to. My bicycle, my guns, I built a computer, and change stuff out to make it run better as often as I can (my last mod was changing out the factory heatsink/fan), my last car (a '90 Honda prelude) which hardly any aftermarket parts exist for so that was a real challenge. Being that there are plenty of "add on" and "go fast" parts for my truck, you can only imagine my delight. I can't leave stock alone. I know I got my chrome door handles first, but I've always been a believer in the "go before show" principle, so now I am trying to make up for that with my servo and a new PCM

I'm with you in the function before form issue. My Escalade dash was for the trans temp, the servo and tune were for gas mileage, the turn signal dim mirrorsd were for safety, the tool box under the back seat kept things from rolling out and becoming unsafe, and the list goes on.... That's part of my problem..

Hi  my name is Nick and I... I ... I'm a modoholic. :frown: I guess it all started when I was young. Me and a couple friends built a tree house (girls not allowed of course) and had been adding additions on to it ever since. I never knew I had a problem until I bought my truck. I've had many encounters with modification with my integra but never anything like this. :headshake Intake, exhaust, headers...I mean everyone was doin it :dunno: but I gues I went overboard and before you know it I bought a V8 truck. My mods started mild and then slowly moved to a heavy state in which it almost controlled me, it was like a ton of bricks all coming down at one time :bricks1: Is there any hope for me guys...guys... oooh :sadwavey:

The only reason I'm here is because I was made to (damn friends and their interventions)......

116 people look at the post and only 6 of you are willing to admit your problem. Those are pretty typical odds for any population being surveyed. I can understand if you want to stay anonymous, just admit you have a problem you will feel so much better.....

I too have a problem, however, mine is time related. So little time, so little cash and so many mods. I've done the 4-headlight for high beam, and Leds on the HVAC, when I get some time I usually spend it on my truck.

When I'm not looking after my 2 year old son I'm working on my house or my truck. And everyday I come back here and find more news and more tricks to tweak my truck...

Thanks for being here guys.....

I had to give up my race car allowance to get this thing, AND I have a '72 Blazer I'm trying to restore. I deliberately shorted myself on the truck by selecting a V6/5 spd. I've managed to hold the spending to about $1500 on cosmetic stuff. I've got one more thing in the works that's gonna cost me about $525. Then I think I'm gonna go cold turkey on the truck, and decide if I'm gonna race, or fix Da Beast (Blazer). Too many projects, not enough time or resources. Try tripling your NEED.....
