OK, lets get some opinions on the best products for making the vehicle look good. No mechanical maintenance. Just products for paint, wheels, glass....The look good stuff.

Glad someone else here is interested in visual mods :D I've been doing a lot of looking for the Ford Explorer (I've got a 1992), so here goes...

Of course, having nice rims and a decent paint job is essential. If yo ucan find fenders (not bumpers) for your vehicle, as well as side skirts, that's even better (they are somewhat common for 95-01, if you find any for 92 give me a holler). Depending on your year (let's just go off mine), separate back bucket seats might be a good idea (instead of the bench seat). The instrument panel lights can be replaced with LED's from FutureLEC.com (I'm buying a couple hundred of the 5mm 3 color's and doing all around the interior of my car and in the front foot area, I'll be able to choose which color whenever I want). Some people like Neons (especially me, but I'm going with an LED based strip, doesn't break, and I'm doing 3 colors wired all into the same switch). On my model, the ceiling has no trim and is completely flat, so I'm going to take it out and cut it up a bit, then mold it with paper maché or similar, I want to add 2 speakers in the ceiling in the back corners, as well as have a hump around the back seats to redirect air from the A/C to the passenger. I'm installing 2 spotlights into my rear hatch (for working on people's cars when they break down), and I'm installing 1 12v power outlet on each side of the rear hatch frame (for air compressors or additional lights). I'm also putting 12v power outlets in the engine compartment and in the rear doors. The double wiper wiper blades look better than singles.

The best visual upgrade you can do is a car PC. one touchscreen monitor in the front and a regular one in the back of each headrest (with a keyboard mounted underneath). There are boards you can buy that can interface with any 12v powered unit (like windows, door locks, etc). Set it up right and buy a PDA, set up a small web server on your Car PC, and you could use your PDA as a car remote.
