Possible Problem

I went out driving tonight after putting on my new rims and tires, everything was fine for the first 20 miles. But on another trip tonight a issue came up. I can feel it from the drivers seat that somethings hitting somewhere in the fenderwell from what it feels like. But it only happens when I let the foot off the gas, but it goes away when I brake as well. But it only happens on my drivers side front, the others are fine. Anyone got any clue what the problem might be? Theres also no signs of rubbing anywhere in the amount of time I drove it, and no matter what the possition of the wheel it happens. Im thinking it might be the fact the lining in my fenderwell is comming off and very loose, but from the hitting I can feel in the drivers seat I just cant say, anyone got a clue that could help a guy out, I dont plan on driving it till I find out whats going on.

Yeah that happens alot when get bigger rims. You lose your clearance which makes it alot easier for your tired to rub someone allong the fender wall. try to pinpoint exactly where it came from. Take a hard right turn and listen to the left front and left rear or any noises. Do the same with a hard left turn but vis virsa. Once you do that I would take off the wheel you heard the noise from and look for rub marks. Then apply proper modification. Either that or you should get stiffer springs.

What kind of car?
What size tires?
Is it lowered?

GMC says they back their products, but i have a GMC built transmission that was had a gaurentee of 3 years or 60000 kms. their new warrenty is for 90000 kms.

i have just over 20000 kms on my trans and it kicked it. i maintain it as i should, and drive it in normal expected conditions.

i have contacted my local GMC dealer and they told me that they would not stand behind their work or their warrenty.

I recommend to all not to buy GMC products of any kind, they will leave you high and dry, with an empty wallet.

Acctually guys, I think I found the problem. You see, since I just got new rims and tires, aftermarket of course, I didnt really know that I needed different lugs. Because I was using the stock lugs, I didnt know there was a difference. So I called the tunner shop across the street that I goto and I told them the situation and said I should have had aftermarket lugs on there because I guess where they meet is different. Though, I do hope that is just the problem, Ill write the outcome, though it might not be for a while because I have to work the airshow here on andrews AFB security detail...yey me...13 hours of sitting on a bus all day.

Well, I walked to the tunner shop and got me the lugs, im going to install them on monday and hope everything works out the way it is suppose to.

It was the lugs, put the new ones in today, no more sound, no more knocking, ran it pretty good from speeds 0-90 and didnt hear a peep out of them.
