Lcd

ok i had an idea and i got some of the parts so far but the thing is i dont know what other parts i need or what to do with them..... i took the LCD screen out of my old cell phone and i want to put it in where the clock is a/nd have it show me messages(hello matt/ when i turn on the car/ like nightrider) or such things boost, doors open, etc ...i just want to get it to work first and then see what i can do with it.... if it help i am saving up for one of those mobile computer things so if i can to connet it to there then let me know..... if u have any information plz help if not then thanks for ur time ptfo!

never heard of this being done, but by my knowledge, you would have to a computer of sort reading your cars computer via USB. Your cars ECU would send your "mini" ecu the info, the the mini ECU could send the info to the display. Good luck on finding a computer that can display on a phone screen though....the resolution is all different, i am sure it could be done, but is it worth it?

hehe thats an interesting idea... i can just hear the knightrider beat in the background... solrider... but anyway i found some thing on ebay that may be a primitive approach to this idea.

ive had it in my watch list for like ever now, thought it was kinda cool but had no real use for it.. dunno if you'd be interested but here it goes anyway:
