A/C Compressor on 86 351

I just got back from the repair shop as my A/C starts cold and then goes warm after 10 mins. They said that I had a big leak at the back of my compressor and recommended that I replace the compressor/clutch, drier/accumulator and orifice tube. Is this a do it yourself job as I no longer have any R-12 in the system? If so, are there any good step by step directions (other than Chilton)?
