ive been looking around and reading up but i still cant decide which type of headers i should get. I have a 91 RS with a 305 tbi. but in a year or two ill probably be switching to a 350 tbi. where i need help is figuering out which headers will work best for my car on both of the engines. Should i get hooker super comp or elderbrock tes? So lets hear your :2cents:

any smallblock headers designed for your camaro will work on both engines, there external dimensions are the same. I would go with edelbrock headers, but if your on the cheap side the flowtech headers I bought for my 92 were only 95 dollars

edelbrock tes, i'm saving up for them now. I got no choice really. The old exhaust system is all f'de up and needs replacement.

I run the TES and am happy. They don't give you 'insane' gains or anything like that, but you can tell a huge difference over stock.
Only gripes, plug swaps get interesting, and the dipstick tube needs modification.

How would i have to mod the dipstick tube? Also, are they easy to snake in?

I was lucky enough to get the car right after the previous owner put a whole system on the car. But, I've did a simialr job on my old camaro and the worst part was getting the stock manifolds out, they're heavy dead priests. But the TES don't seem to take up as much space either, maybe about 3/4 as much as stock? So pulling them out 'should be' easy, guess I'll find out this weekend when I pull the heads.
The stick, maybe he had it done wrong but the dipstick is slammed against the back of the header. So once you pull it out it won't go back correctly so little bend and teak strategicly located and good to go, but checking hte oil is next to impossible when the engine is warm.

Yeah, those manifolds look like they will be a pain to get off, but i can't wait til they are off!!! Thats good to hear that they don't take up much space, should be able to put them on in a couple of hours i hope, along with my pops.

Link85X - 2 neccessary tools: lots of beer, and lots of PB blast definately a good idear to soak em overnight.
tcfto2005 - to get a few out like #8, you need to be a contortionist, but it's doable after you figure out which way to go, but you have to do it wiht a double offset wrench, plug socket and open end wrench.

I stopped using Bosch a couple of years ago, all my cars and the cars I did side jobs on, pulled 'em out, OBD IIs were saying misfires left and right and one of my cars had the worst spark knock out of no where.
Guess a good thing dosen't last forever
