Alright, this is going to be a long post due to the fact that it happend over the course of an entire day. So bare with me here.

Anywho, my buddy just got back from his Navy tour in Italy. Over the course of 3 years he's saved up a nice chunk of change as an E4 that doesn't drink. So he's on the lookout for a new car and comes to me for some guidense. He's pretty sure he wants a BMW and that's about all he knows. First thing that comes to my mind is E36 M3 coupe. So we look at a few and he loves the M3 edition right away, but one of them sticks out right away. It's an estral blue, 5spd, RMS stage 2 supercharged M with 88,000 miles on the odometer, but with a rebuild done 15k ago. Needless to say this is the one he buys. Well, with all that said, now it's on to the fun part.
We went to pick the car up and finalize the deal on Tuesday afternoon. I had him follow me back to my house in my truck, while I drove the car. Now this thing has dynoed at 390 rwhp with the use of an aquamist injection system, and i believe it. This is the reason he had me drive it at first. So after parking my truck I took him out for a spin in his new toy to show him what it could do, and DAMN, this thing is no joke. It goes like stink!
While out on our first little jaunt around town we pass up a bright lime-green teg that's trying to merge into traffic from the middle lane, going in the same direction we are. The teg was at least slightly modified as it had a set of pillar pods with some small gauges(which I'm asuming/hoping were for a turbo boost gauge and something else), exhuast and was lowered. Oh yeah, and some GIANT vynel logos on the back window and hood along with a big aluminium wing. As we passed him a juiced it a bit while still in 4th gear just to get his attention.
I wasn't sure if it worked at first, but about 30 seconds and a half mile later he comes fly up to us in the next lane over. We were doing about 45 in 4th gear (which is way out of the powerband of the M) when he tried to pass. When he was about 3-4 car lengths back I could tell he was on WOT, without down shifting I mashed the gas and stoped his pull on us instantly. He never got his front bumper passed the door jam and we put about 5 car lengths on him within a couple seconds.
This really seemed to piss him of because instead of lining back up with us as I slowed back down, he proceded to fly passed us and weave through traffic, cutting about 3 cars of in doing so. I tried to jockey safely into position next him, but every time i got close to him he sped away and cut some more ppl off. So to save the other cars around me I decided to leave this jerk be.
Shortly after this We stopped by my buddies place to show him the newly bought prize. While there, a mutual friend of ours, that lives with another mutual friend was there. Jokingly I told him to go tell our other buddy that some asshole with a slighty modified M3 is talking trash about his '96 cobra, and wants to put $100 down on a race. So of course he goes home right away and relays this message. Well this got Vinnie fired up, so he calls us and tells us to meet him at his place. So I went over there thinking we were going to race the cobra, (which is a a beautiful '96 mystic) but when we arrived he had his '86 notch (which is a stripped down nitrous car running on a well built 306) ready to run.
We pulled out on the street with both of the cars loaded down with 2 ppl per vehicle, and lined them up at 30 mph in 2nd gear. Randy which was the passenger in the notch counted us down...3, 2, 1 GO!!! We both let them rip, with the M3 jumping a half car right away,
which i figured he would make up in a second or two. But instead of him gaining back the ground, we just kept on pulling, and pulling. We shut them down after he gave up with a 3-4 car deficit at around 90-100 mph (a rough guess because i never looked at the tac or speedo, all I know is we were hauling some serious ass). Needless to say, Vinnie was thoroughly impressed with the M as his car has run a 12.34 @ 123 without the bottle.

All in all, I am a new found believer in BMW, because this thing is an animal! Go M power!

Oh yeah, we also destroyed some various other cars including a new 5 series bmw throughout the day, but nothing else worth posting.

From what I heard he tried to shoot a small nos shot when racing...see, my buddy Vinnie is a strange guy, he don't always let you know what he's doing, you kinda get half truths out of him. :screwy:
He also broke his notch during that race. Destroyed some of his rigged electronics during the run. So the M3 technically really does have a KILL, haha.

I'm also trying to post the pics I took with my dig cam as we speak, but my buddies pc is eff'd up and won't install the cam software. So it'll have to wait till i get to work tomorrow.

AND, I have an update on the car...it seems that all that fun we had tuesday night finished off an already blown head gasket, so it'll be 2 weeks before I get some tasty vids of us causing chaos. Good thing is, it should be faster when we get it back. The blown gasket was causing us to lose some boost pressure...so instead of seeing 5-6 lbs, we should see 8-9 lbs :evillol:

That's a good thing dude, all you have to do is stay away from booze and hookers on your tour and you will come back fairly wealthy for a young individual. But it's hard to do...the military is known for making drunks out of most anybody. But I believe that's mostly the Navy and Airforce.

how does he manage that? You can run low 12s @ 115mph. 123mph is fast enough trap to run mid 11s. Maybe he's got traction problems. My friend Joes blown/cam'd 01 GT runs 12.1 @ 130+MPH. :evillol:

I would Love to own one, as they are great cars. But all my hard earned cash is going into the Camaro at the moment. The good news is that the Camaro will make Jason's RMS M3 look slow, and will handle almost as well...muhahaha :naughty:

Yes, it did have some traction problems, he had a pretty bad 60 foot to prove it. He didn't rev it out of the gate either.

What impresses me about the M3 is that from a second gear roll at 30 Vinnie didn't have to worry about traction, and we still pulled a few lengths on him.

damn man that car sounds sick. Ive always loved the look of the bmw's and the m3's will haul some serious ass when they are stock. I can just imagine what your friends is like.

Well, if you compare them to most other 4/6 cyl cars stock vs. stock, I guess they are kinda quick. But the U.S. E36 M3 is by no means FAST with a lousy 240 crank HP. It does however haul some serious ass when you unlock the car's potential with a blower and tuning.

The cool thing is, is that we werent running on the car's 390 rwhp when we did these races, it was more like 290 rwhp. This is due to the fact that we were running without the aqaumist system, AND with a blown headgasket. So when the car comes back from the shop with both of these issues adressed we should see another 100 rwhp. Soon to be followed by another 3-5 lbs of boost via a smaller blower pulley, which should add an additional 40-60 rwhp.

Not to say this thing dosn't haul ass but these gains may be a little optomistic. If he's blowing head gaskets now, why would he want more boost? You will blow the head clean off.

The E46 on the other hand...

We are having a high-performance head gasket installed as apposed to the stock one. It will also be a thicker gasket, as to take some compression out of the stock 10.0 ratio. If at all possible we are going to have the head o-ringed as well. THIS is why we are going to add more boost ;)

And don't worry about the internals, they are all forged, with JE pistons.
