Just a sneak peek of my latest work. it should be done in a few days. as you can see it still needs some trim and panel line paint and a good polish but over all i think it looks good so far. better pics to come when its finished.

Neat car, nice color. What kit is it?
I recently started the MPC Bora, it says "made in the USA" on the chassis, but it seems to be a rebox of a Japanese kit :screwy:  . It's not the same kit as yours, as the headlight covers have the square corners, yours have the rounded (both are correct for Boras).
Are you going to do the brushed-stainless roof?

This is the Airfix kit. it sucks pretty bad. its like 45 pieces and no detail on chassis and interior. ive spent about 15 hrs. on it. i wasnt planning on doing anything with it other than finish it. but i recently found reference pics of a yellow one w/ the brush stainless roof and i like the way it looks so yes i probably will do that. but all in all this is meant to be a "week-end" build to motivate me to build some other more detailed kits, and it has motivated me so mission accomplished. i would like to see pics of the MPC kit. i was only aware of the other Crown kit that i believe is a re-box of the Airfix. the MPC kit i didnt know existed.

I don't think any of the 70's era kits are all that great, the MPC kit came from about 1979, and it's okay but has the typical issues of that era...cheesy interior/chassis detail (this one had been motorized at some point), and an okay body that needs some tweaks. Lousy chrome, the wheels are okay but boring. Interior side panels are a joke (like Fujimi's F355 Spider).
I've got it in primer, had to re-scribe a few lines, I've cribbed some door panels from a $2 Ferrari parts kit, and will just do an average job on it w/a pretty paint job and do my best at exterior detail, and use some aftermarket rims. The body proportions are quite good on it, and w/the right tweaks the finished model should be presentable. I'm thinking Tamiya metallic green.
Good luck w/yours!

back in the 70s, revell made a kit of the bora that, like their 365 boxer, lancia stratos and 308 gtb/gts kits, has/d full detail. admittedly the quality of detail, accuracy and sometimes, even the scale seem a bit wrong when compared to more modern kits but i haven't seen any other kit.
as you say, not all that great....
the other bora kits i've seen since seem to be using the same body but have little interior and are usually motorised kits (or kits to be motorised).
you don't tend to see these 'original' full detail revell kits up for sale that often although i think i saw one of those boras on ebay last month (and obviously missed it....)
