Will a starter from a 2000 Jetta GLS work on a '97 Jetta GLS? It looks like it will bolt on OK, but the old starter from the '97 has a shaft that extends beyond the gear. Please advise ASAP before my returning-home-from-college daughter makes my life... Any help would be great!
