I thought I heard someone did this with out a problem. But I thought I'd ask for all the turbo gurus.

Can you run a T3 50/.48 External wastegate turbo pushing 5psi with innercooler on stock injectors, block, fuel pump, ecu, ect.? I know you'd have to upgrade the exhaust, 2.5" or 3"?

Engine is a d16a6. Thanks.

NO MORE THAN 5 PSI
Kinda but you need more fuel either a FMU or stand alone. And you will need it tuned to much fuel it will boog, too little fuel and pop goes your block or pistons or valves.
Your exhaust could be 2" to 3" it will not matter with turbo.

Yea, I know I'd have to go get it tuned so it doesn't blow up in a week (or less). As Far as FMU goes that would be a??? Hondata, SAFC,??? As you can tell I'm new to this. I've been tring to read up on it all but haven't found alot of time. A friend of mine is really needing cash and is willing to sell me his rebuilt T3 for $150 (still new in box).

Ya go for it at 5 psi You should be ok on stock internal but if you go higher you will need to get low comp pistons and do other internal mods.

Yea, I've read up to that much. If I do get the b16a I want it's going to have Low comp, pistons, port, polished, balanced, etc. But I want to see how much I can puch this little D16a6 around before it quits.

Yes! live that little engine to its fullest!!
So a budget turbo kit. I you need help... get this...
-Cast iron turbo header $150-$200
-your turbo CHEAP from a friend!
-vortech FMU $150 new
-1st gen eclipse blow off valve $50 if that
-fmic intercooler $175(will lower pressure entering intake manifold slightly)
-maybe a fuel pressure riser B&M brand $40
P.S. it is a T3 so I suggest you put a little more money into the kit on quality parts and maybe you can push a low 13 high 12 e.t
Get ARP head studs to hold the head down on the gasket $130 easy install
Lastly, use this info to learn a lil more befor eyou purchase anything, bring this list to a local shop and suggest it. Remember I'm basing it off of a limited budget.

just remember, boost is addicting. You will find your self saying just 1 more psi, just 2 psi, just BOOM!.

what GudeCiv said is a good list but you could go even cheaper because for the manifold you could go with the hf manifold(speed shops through these away if not hit up the junk yard they are like $30) and an adapter plate($50) then for managment i would go with bigger injecters and some sort of stand alone(i like turboedit) then you can learn how to tune on the d16 then switch the managment to the b16 and not blow it up. with the injecters and turboedit it would not run you more than the fmu. also go to turbod16.com and homemadeturbo.com

Thank you very much for the compliment.
The block is bonestock imported.
The head I bought used when I went out to a local hang out for all the car guys. He sold it to me for $500
Band new it may run you $1,200
you need to email the guys on pricing, go to www.guderacing.com (http://www.guderacing.com)
if you dont have that kinda money, save for three years. It's worth it.
Keep it SOHC'in!
