VCR outdoors, will this work?

I have a few old TV's outside in my yard so I can watch movies out there... they were free so I don't really care about them. I want to put a VCR and even a DVD player and Nintendo out there, but will they get ruined from all the moisture of sitting outside? We do get lots of rain here at times, so I keep everything under plastic, and the setup is kind of under some trees, but will they still get ruined?

For the VCR and DVD:
If it was me I would get long RCA cables (or S-video, but its more expensive) and keep the good electronics inside, If needed set them up in view of a window so remotes will work,
For the Nintendo:
Depends how much you like it, When it rains outside you might loose it to the moisture, but that goes for the TVs too, or I think you can get extentions for the controllers and do the same thing,
MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG THEM WHEN RAINING!

I don't want to ruin my Nintendo or DVD player, but setting it up in a window probably wouldn't work. It's about 60 feet from the corner of my house... but any wiring would have to go way around so it wouldn't get in the way of the lawn, etc. The TV's have worked so far but who knows... doesn't matter, they're free junkers anyways. I do keep the power off for all of the time when it's not in use.

You're going to wanna try using a wireless A/V transmitter and reciever, should work if its a pretty straight shot and you're got going through cement walls and stuff

But not for the Nintindo,
Just carry it out with you when you wanna use it, (I know you dont want to)

BTW how'd you run power to them? Long extention cord or was there already a plug out there,

Yeah, once you see the ugly cabinet that holds this TV you won't even want to steal it...

I probably won't end up using the wireless A/V transmitter... I'll probably just keep the VCR out there and then carry the Nintendo and DVD player out there, which will be annoying but oh well. Eventually ruining the VCR isn't a huge deal I guess.

The TV and stuff is about 60 feet from the house, but I used about 160 feet of extension cord, that way I could run it nicely around the yard and hide it... if I did the 60 feet across thing then it would be running across the lawn! It goes into an outdoor AC outlet, which can be switched off by a wall switch that is indoors... so I only turn it on when I need it.

Why not just make some kind of enclosure for them to sit on that would be water proof at least. Or are the tvs like, just sitting in teh grass?

I looked around just for a minute and found that they are pricey, the low end one was $80

You could get a new DVD and VCR (not great, but cheap) for that price,

I agree that you could probably fashion some sort of watertight cabinet for them, but if you aren't careful you can just trap water inside with no ventilation, especially since you need to get to them to put in movies DVDs,

The cabinet TV is on the ground, mainly loose dirt and twigs and stuff... not real grass. On top of the cabinet is a crappy wooden box which will hold the VCR/DVD etc... with another TV beside it. I have plastic over it, so it doesn't directly get water on it, but it's not completely airtight so moisture could get in. It's under some trees so it never gets direct heavy rain.
