I haven't gotten my car delivered yet but I've been hearing all this crap about bad paint on the sentras. Would you guys recommend me getting the dealer protection clear coat and the undercoat and stuff like that? Or should I take it somewhere else and get it done???? Cheers.

I heard it on these forums. People talk about their paint chipping and stuff.

I have had my car for like three months and I know I am going to have to get the front repainted by the beginning of the summer. I have little chips here and there around the front bumper.

I agree! I already took the car back to the dealer twice to have them buff out some scratches on the hood. And today i decided to wash and wax my car and something weird is happening. I went up and bought some turtle wax that has a built in clear coat enhancer and when i got finished buffing all the wax out i noticed these glossy streaks. I tried buffing with paper towles, terry clothe towles, and even a foam pad, but the glossy/ hazy look would not go away! Has this happened to anyone else?

I have heard that when they put the clear coat protectant on it tends to leave streaks that look like scratces. I took my car to a body shop and they told me this is normal but that on dark cars you see it more so if you have a light collored car it should be barely noticable.

I hear most of the new cars are being cheap on the paint. We have to post on the other Nissan message boards and see if they are having the same problem as Sentras.

I currently have a 98 Maxima and if I even flick a booger at it, the paint will chip. To sum it all up... Nissan Paint sucks, period. I have owned many Nissans and all have had the same probled, Thin metal and cheap paint. I heard Ferrari's get 33 coats of paint, too bad Nissan's dont.
