97 Town and Country Trans Problem

I have a 97 T&C with 135,000 miles. Runs great but not shifting. The check engine light is on so I used a code checker from autozone to download the codes. They are 700 and 733. One says "3rd gear ratio incorrect" and the other is "trans control system malfunction". I need to know what sensors or parts to replace to fix the problem. When I call any dealers they want me to bring it in (of course)! Anyone know what I need to replace to fix? Thanks.

I think you may be better off taking the vehicle to the dealer or a transmission shop. The codes you mention may indicate a more serious problem that may require a rebuild or replacement of the transmission. I had the same codes on my 97 when the transmission went and had to be replaced.

If you have a 4 speed tranny in your van, it could be the solenoid module on the front of the tranny. Thats what just went on mine. Its not cheap, cheap but its far cheaper than replacing the whole tranny. You can get the tranny codes read by a dealer or tranny shop. It only cost me 20 bucks to have the codes read. Give it a try.
