Dude I don't think thats a tranny problem......in my 98 auto, i getting the same thing now. If feels more like a brake/axle problem. How do I know? One, cause i can hear the pop. Two, I feel it the the steering wheel and or brake pedal. It a pop noise like two big rocks hitting together. Thats it, I'm going back to my manual 96

I think I figured out what the problem was/is

My cv joint on the left side pops real bad now when going left at any degree for any reason. I going to wait until the morning to take it apart to see if its broken or loose.

it does it so bad that it vibrated four of my lugs loose. I know this because I tightend them before I left for my destination because i thought that my have been the problem. When I got there, they were loose again.

i dont know about that.....i really think its the tranny because it always does it when i start from a stand still or if i downshift into a corner...its just loud enough to hear...although my exhaust is kind of loud...i guess you could say it was loud because i can hear the pop over the exhaust...but more of a description...it sounds a lot like a rock hitting something metal and somewhat hollow under my car. take the clicking/whining noise you hear in an auto when you change gears...and make it a pop sound if that makes any sense....best i can describe it...
