How much boost on stock internals?

I have all the mods listed below and i have my AFC completely tuned. I was wondering how much psi can the stock internals take? I was told u can run 17psi with the injectors and fuel computer. and then it drops off to about 13 or so to the redline. What is everyone else running for boost with similar mods?

How do you know you have it tuned right...I don't see a datalogger, or any gauges what-so-ever in your list.
Internals aren't the problem you will encounter first...it's the limitations of our turbos..providing you have sufficient fuel.

you can do 20+ easy without changing the stock internals. you need better turbos though to do that. i don't see upgraded turbos there. you'd need 15g turbos or better to get 20psi or more to redline.

yea, you will need upgraded turbos.
Stock turbos generally hold 10 psi to redline.
The reason it is said not to run anymore than 15 psi on stock turbos is because of the size of the stock turbos. The stock turbos are soo small and very inefficient after 15 psi, that all it does is dump in hot air into the engine instead of the regular pressurized air that its supposed in which too much heat is not good for your engine.
The stock motor itself has been proven to hold 32 psi by a dr-1000 and dr-800 powered cars, so the boost levels itself is fine, its the stock turbos that will hurt.

so wait a min not to steal the thread but u can run 32 pounds on stock injectors and fuel pump?

lol yea right, you can only run 14.5 psi on stock turbos with stock fuel. Bigger turbos you'll be able to run less boost because they provide more air at the same PSI level. I was saying that the actual stock longblock has proven to withstand 32 psi.

o.k thats what i thought but i had to check....i thought u were saying that u could run 32 psi on stock internals.... i was like damn thats alot....o.k. ty for the clearification

you can run 30+ psi on stock internals
injectors are not interals
internals are the block, pistons, crank, connecting rods, and sometimes heads.

Ok good thats what i figured was upper 20psi. Im going to run around 15 16 psi at the track tomorrow night. And i was told that with 550cc injectors and a tuned AFC you can run 18 19 psi and be fine fuel wise. The stock turbos will hurt but you will be fine on fuel.

I'm still curious how you tuned your SAFC? Get a datalogger and then you will know what you can safely run.

You may be fine as far as fuel goes, but if your intake temps get to high then you may start to knock because your stock turbos are way out of their effecenty.

Ya like people have said, the internals isnt the problem...its tuning...
if u need help with turbo questions, i think www.mitsutalk.com has a turbo tech guy that can quickly anser your questions.
i have similar mods as you, but do u not have any means of tuning other than your afc? thats not much...

I just found out my rear middle injector has been leaking and when i went to the track saturday nite it was and i still ran 15.00 @ 100mph. with a 2.66 60'. My car wasnt tuned and my injector was leaking and i still ran that. I think once i get my injector fixed and tune the afc it should fly. What settings are you running in your afc. I have like high throttle -39% and -25% for low throttle. With 550cc. What settings are you running you say you have simlar mods?

wow buddy, you need to get those 60 foots down to a 1.7
you shouldn't be running anything slower than 13's unless you have a sick car

Yea i know i can 60 foot 1.7 but if you read my last post i had a leaking injector, so i lost a lot of fuel pressure plus i had my afc on hotwire by accident and my egr vavle was off. So there were a lot of problems with my car. And it still ran 15.04 @ 100 MPH. Id say thats pretty good. I definatily think that ill b able to get in to the high 12's with this setup.
