Ford Taurus 98 V6 Duratech swap with 2000 Duratec

Hello i need some help my engine on my ford taurus 1998 wagon se v6 24 valvue durateck is dead. there is a few 2000 model engines that is also v6 24 valvue durateck engines that is for sale but the dealer is telling me that it is a different part number and might not work for mz 1998. can some one help. what does it take to swap it. i dont want to buy it and then have the mechanic telling me its not the right one he cant do it.

you need the ECU, Harness, and Fuel System from a Gen 4 to do the swap as the Gen 4 Duratec has no secondary intake runners and has a returnless fuel system.
