Ok well i have a 93 cherokee sport with 4L auto.
I just did tune up on it intake and axle back exhaust *both were needed* this is just my back up ride and i'd like better MPG if i can. should i do the mid pipe and cat now?
Would a differnt TB gain me any MPG? Somthing like an MSD system? I like working on her and keeping in good shape but also improving the milage.

14-22 mpg
mostly about 16-17 with the mixed driving.
its stock sized tires and stock 3:55s no lift all it has is the intake and axle back.

if you've gotten 22 w/an automatic, i would say you can't get much better than that. Just keep it in tune, and you'll get the best possible!

ok cool thanks!
well any more work i could do to add some power without losing milage?
I was thinking the rest of the exhaust and T-body next.

Throttle body or mult-port injection?
how much of the intake have you done?
If it's throttle body, do you have a throttle body spacer?

Remove the venture on the intake hose. and cut out the opening on the front of the box. Thats what I did, helped with power and MPG

Hi Ace,
I'd agree with Ferg, 22 is pretty good...
If you haven't bored the throttle body yet, go ahead and do it. I did mine myself, it's a piece of cake to do. I also installed a spacer at the same time. Did see some improvement in mileage and power.

I did Paulsenior's mod. Bored out the front of the air filter box, and removed the plastic panel directly in front of the intake hole on the box. -poor man's cold air intake.
works good.
More horsepower and better gas mileage at the same time requires a later year model engine frankly. I don't know if they are available for a '93, but you might look into a performance chip.
the only drawback is they usually require higher octane gas to reap the performance. More power always equates to more $$$ one way or another.
