Spark plug tube seals

Hi, i have a 96' accprd LX with 4 cyl (not VTEC). There is oil in one spark plug tube ( i believe it is leaking from the top of the tube down into the well, not coming from the inside). car has 175K miles on it. I went to the dealer and for $20 i got 4 spark plug tube seals (the ones i believe are what is leaking.), and new rubber valve cover gasket. i am going to take the cover off and i am wondering if there are any more parts that protect the spark plug tubes from filling with oil, besides the four rings i have already bought? I have read other posts on this but i cant seem to find the answer i am looking for.. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just the 4 seals, an new valve cover gasket and the grommets that seal the hold down nuts. Use a little bit of silicone sealer on the 4 corners of the valve cover gasket and also check the plug wires. If they are really soaked you may want to replace them because the oil will make the rubber swell.

Im sorry if this thread is "dead". I really dont know whre to draw the line on a new or old thread. But , update: i removed the valve cover and replaced all of the rubber parts associated with sealing the valve cover. a month later i look in the same spark plug tube and there is oil again. i am wondering if anyone has any advice on what to do next. Why would it still leak in the same place after i replace the spark plug tube seal with a brand new one??? any advice would be greatly appreciated

Okay, please don't take this as an insult, but let's cover some of the basics.

1. Did you get all of the oil out of the tube when you replaced the seal? What about the lead that runs down through the tube to the plug?

2. Are you referring to oil on the "outside" of the plug (the part that the wire connects to) or the "inside" of the plug (the electrode that produces the spark)?

You have 8 spark plug tube seals all togather. If you have replaced all the uppers and still have an oil leak it is probably the lowers.
