Well, I ordered a corvette servo. I was thinking of also getting a shift kit. What does everyone suggest as far as a shift kit, as far as the brand of shift kit? How hard are the kits to install? Do they come with directions?

If that's the only way to go, what talked you out of installing it?
Just wondering...

i went with a transgo, base kit comes with videao and directions, you might want to change the pinned servo's while your in there, i think there are three of them, and replace the seperator plate with a hardened one
here is links to two of the sevos

I have a Transgo kit at home in an orange box that a transmission mechanic friend of mine gave me. Everything's new, but one of the plastic bags was robbed of the pressure valve. Wonder if I could just get that from the company?

You should be able to find most tranny parts at www.sonnax.com or www.4l60-e.com

Thanks for the links, but it looks like I must have a 4L80E in my HD, not a 4L60E like I ASSumed. There's no servo cover, and I just ordered a Vette servo. Oops. :screwy:

Yup, transgo is the best way to go......This way you can alter the shift points......and it will make a big difference....just make sure to use only 1 or zero washers or esle your going to break your neck in two........

Alright, i must admit I am a bit old school. The only vehicles I've ever worked on are '81 and previous. I have heard a lot about B&M, but I have never heard of transgo. Is there that big of a difference in the kits?

Are there any special things that need to be done....or can the shift kits just be put in and be done with it? Is it something that can be done with handtools in the driveway?

I installed the TransGo shiftkit myself after I got the famous 1st to 2nd bump, it was the professional kit and took me about 3 hours, no special tools required. I got my kit for $35 on Ebay.

ive been very interested in gettin a shift kit for my silverado also, had one in my previous truck and loved it, but im worried about install, is there a link to like the directions that i could look at with out buying it and all? and also u guys were talkin about hte B&M shift kits being like $100? i can get one from my local advance for like $35 i think it was, and is the transgo a way better way to go or just a brand name thing u guys prefer? and for my the harder the shift the better so if i can chirp threw 2nd and maybe 3rd that be awesome :iceslolan
