I can't wait, but I can.. When the PS2 came out, it was $800AUD, this will be higher, now you can buy the PS2, with the stand, memory card, AND a game for like $300AUD.

I hope that Sony isn't really planning on redesigning their controllers. If it ain't broke don't fix it. If the PS3 has the same controllers as the PS2 but with the additional bluetooth wireless technology, then that machine is pure sex, and I can't wait.

Yeah, i like the design of the ps2 controllers. A redisign will only be a step backwards.

No way hoser, microsoft is going to kill sony....they are the only ones out for the holiday season this year. And about the same time the PS3 comes out BAM Halo 3....OUCH!

If Sony does anything to the controller, I wish they would move the left thumbstick up. It is much better for FPSs than having the thumbsticks horizontal to each other.

I dont think it makes any difference what so ever. Also you can tell how BADLY Microsoft is afraid of Sony, if they pull something like putting Halo3 out right when Ps3 comes out. Funny stuff.

Yeah it seems that way, but for some reason I doubt it. They knew what they were getting them selves into when they brought out their own console. It's feirce competition, but I don't think they're scared of Sony.

I say around 400 but my friend says probably somewhere around 500. Also whatever system you buy, they are all going to look the same and basicly play the same thing except for some having exclusive games and a little thing here and there. The console wars is once again still going strong and it looks like it'll be another victory for Playstation.

Mine plays regular CD-R's but not MP3 CD's, and I even have the newer version PS2.

It'll probably be a couple years before I'd look into getting one of the upcoming systems. I just have trouble justifying the expenditure of so much money for something that plays videogames. Where are the people coming up with all the money to fuel these new videogame wars? It seems like it's all way more expensive. Remember the days when a new system launched for 199.99? Or (holy hell) 299.99? And it was a complete system with an actual GAME packaged inside, and TWO controllers!!! Damn, now you've gotta shell out about that much just for a friggin' handheld unit without even a game (because systems don't come with games in the box anymore.)

I've weighed my options: build a new computer that'll do everything under the sun for me, or buy a next-gen VG system that'll play games, and maybe do other tasks... AFTER I spend a few hundred more on the accessories to allow me to do them. Yup. New computer. Maybe I'll buy a next-gen VG system when the next-next gen ones are on the horizon :grinno:

Well its just in everyone's opinion, really i'll take a console over a computer anyday, except that consoles never come out with strategy games so it blows. But I think it's alot better especially since you got to get a new video card if you dont got the best which cost about 200 bucks alone when you could get a complete system for that. So I dont know, but I cant wait for the Ps3..

It's the games that make the console. Xbox hasn't done as well as PS2 because they don't have anywhere near the third party game support Sony does. This is the same reason Dreamcast died. If it weren't for Halo and Halo 2 Xbox would have sold half what it did. So given current market trends, plans as laid and the motions of the stars, I got my money on Sony to rip Microsoft ANOTHER new asshole.

However, Microsoft does appear to be in the console market for the long run. Years after its release, Microsoft has still not made a dime off the Xbox, each console they move sells for a loss. Dedication or hard headed stupidity? Time will tell.

Yes, GAY-lo 2 has helped the Xbox alot. But the PS3 is gonna be muck better than the xbox 360, i checked out the spes of the systems.

I'm goin' for the Poratal. THe 360 will mor than likely be a waste just like xbox. THe had sucha weak selection and it's was confirmed by me and a few others that most kids only had halo, halo, 2 and maybe 2 other games for xbox around here and kids with PS2 had many titles.

Although, we can forget the smaller competition which i will buy in heartbeat or close to it. The Revolution... it'll play anything from NES to Gamecube. It will the sickness!

You just said it yourself. The XBox was good because it ahd some good quality games that people loved to play day in and day out. Sony had to release a bunch of games to keep its players happy with the system.

I bought my PS2 when both the it and the xbox were out... I went with the PS2 because it had a lot more quality games that I liked than the xbox. There are some good xbox games, but I just couldn't justify buying the system for those games. As for the PS3 and Xbox360, I will not be waiting in line for either system when they debut. I think I'll wait it out and see what games come out and the quality of those games. Back in the day a new system didn't cost much and if the system's library turned out mediocre you still came out ahead. Now buying a new system is a serious investment that requires broke ass suckers like me to choose wisely.

Yeah I think im going to buy an Xbox system for just the Halo 3, but man with this price.. that's going to be kinda hard. I though certainly am getting Ps3.. mostly because of the Metal Gear Solid series.. it just doesnt stop being fun.

yeah i play my ps2 more than anything else i have (comp, cube, borrowed xbox) so im probably going with the sony again. even though i dont like their general product quality. but w/e.

oh. i wish they would make a really good racing game that is somewhat like GT4 but with other things mixed in. i wish i could design it. anyway heres what i would love to see:
-Wide selection of cars (GT4...)
-BUT; needs to have a better customization system than GT4. i mean like more appearance stuff. aero kits, paint, decals, lights, etc. Not riced out like NFSU2, but real kits and things from actual companies like Veilside and HKS. and if i buy racing brakes i want to see drilled rotors and red calipers behind the wheels. same with exhaust.
-Better car sound. if i put an exhaust on my Sti i want it to sound like an Sti, not like....i dunno what it sounds like, boring is the only way to describe it. also BOV, on GT4 you dont get the realistic sound.
-realistic handling (GT4 nailed it)
-DAMAGE
-individual part upgrade/repairs. oops looks like your injectors are clogged , what kind do you want to buy, or leave it as is and let your car sputter. flat tires, buy/sell.
-More than just track racing. throw in something like realistic auto X, drags, and higway races, WITH cops.
-..you can receive fines/impounds from cops.
-realistic prices. come on a 90,000 turbo kit for my Miata that puts out 200HP? yeah.

i guess its a mix of whats out there, just sharpened up and a little added to. just more realism!
