Is the point of this thread to compare two rappers?

What's the point?

NOT a rhetorical question, seriously, answer it please.

I never understood the point on comparing any bands/artists/acts/song writers/producers/composers/arrangers, anything. I find those threads pointless, and a chance to voice your opinion on why one is better than the other pissing everone off who disagrees furthermore sparking arguements, which, as a law in it self is always one 16 year old foul mouthed individual who will rants and rave and carry on and abuse and insult everyone around him, the end result is having the thread closed 45 posts too late.

Not to mention you get those assholes who think tupac is the shit, eventhough they haven't even heard the other compared artist's art, forebearing the thread invalid to opinion.

As a closing argument, I chose tupac, because like everyone else who hasn't heard biggie, I haven't heard biggies stuff so I'm kinda biased :smokin:

you've never heard any Biggie Smalls? Damn i am westcoast to the heart but i have heard all that shit. fans of bay area (SF, OAKLAND, VALLEJO, etc., CA) rap would have put recently passed "Mac Dre" above both of them, with 2pac and Biggie coming in tied at a close 2nd. I would say though that i like Pac's choice of features better on his albums than Biggie's. So points are like this (out of 10)
Mac Dre:10.0
Pac:9.50
Biggie:9.25

You're comparing the two because they had the biggest rival in musical history, presumably subsequently resulting in both of their deaths. I agree though, it's been done.

Personally, I just LOVE Notorious signing 'Juicy'. Tupac's stuff is really good, but I just love some of Notorious's songs. Both were amazing artists, and it's too bad they both had to die too young. I can't decide. Between I Wonder if Heaven Got a Ghetto and Hypnotize

I'd take Tupac every day of the week before Biggie.

Biggie was better lyrically, Pac had simple rhymes but he had lots of charisma which made him great

And i'm not posting no more lol this Biggie Vs Tupac shit has bin done so much

i would have to say that Pac had more of an influence and seemed like he had more songs that are more about the problems people face, rather than the pimps and ho's that get thrown around in biggie's songs. don't get me wrong, putting on Biggie's "Juicy" or "Sky Is The Limit" i think takes the cake compared to some of Pac's stuff. i'm a sucker for "how do you want it" and "chagnes"

I like tupacs stuff better in every aspect. And lyrically i still like him better.....he says things that just makes me have to hit the rewind button. his flow is hypnotizing in a sense and is just overall awesome....the only songs that my hair stand up is tupacs. Biggies songs just doesnt have that effect

Without a doubt Tupac. The way i see it it goes like this:

Lyrics: Tupac. He just wouldnt leave Bad Boy records alone.
Style: Tupac. Biggie ripped him, plus biggie denied involvement in the 94 shooting with everyone knows is bull.

Biggie is a way better rapper but in truth Big L was better than both of them and Big Pun was in there somewhere as well

big L was great but i don't know if you can fairly say that he was better than pac. if you notice on mixtapes and shit L tends to use the same rhyme over and over again in different songs. He was a fuckin' great rapper and probably would have been one of the greats if he had been given a little more time to shine.
