everytime i try to start my car to turn the engine over it the just makes a sparking/popping noise, do i have my v-tec selenoid wiring messed up? or i was also thinking the selenoid itself was bad, maybe the starter too..can anyone help mE?
(the noise sounds like its coming from the selenoid or starter)

popping sound like a ignition coil makes when arcing? check coil in dizzy. check if your getting spark, assuming it wont turn on.

or does it pop like out of the intake tube?
listen carefully...if it sounds like your intake is "popping" then your timing is backwards.

starter or solenoid? those are in two different locations. You need someone to help you locate EXACTLY where the noise is coming from. Besides, if the vtec solenoid were bad, the car would still start up just fine. It's not even used to start the car. If you think it's wired wrong, then just unplug it until you can get the car started.

if you did your wiring backwards on your ecu, like for the pins, it WONT start. if you did wire it wrong, unhook your vtec selonoid and oil pressure switch and it should start if its your wiring is backwards. I did that before cause I thought the diagrams I had were set up for the wires coming out at you instead of looking at the side of the clip that goes into the ecu.
