speakers

I was wondering what size speakers are in the doors of my 95 SE. A guy at Best buy told me 6 1/2, but I've also heard 6 x 8.

5x7, most 6x8's will fit.

5x7? the ones in my GL were 5x8's

I've never seen a 5x8.

5x7's are direct fit. 6x8's will work, but you may have to drill a couple extra holes. Most 6.5's will fit too, but you will also have to drill mounting holes. I've read about a few people who have fit 6x9's, but I believe that requires a little work on the door.

weird, i coulda swore mine were 5x8s.. guess i measured it wrong.

Any suggestions in good sounding brand of replacement 5x7 speakers?

Depends on how much you want to pay. Anything is going to sound better than stock. The best bang for the buck speaker I've found is the walmart Pioneer 6x8's. IIRC the price was around 60 bucks.
