Does 2000 beetle 2.0 gas, auto trans have a cabin air filter?

Here's what info I have:
Dust and pollen filter is located at right rear of instrument panel under a cover. Push top of center air outlet console cover toward windshield and lift up to remove. Remove screws and lift right plenum panel cover. Remove clips at front and rear edge of plenum. Pull plenum toward center of vehicle and out of retainer in "A" pillar. Remove screws at right close out panel. Remove rubber grommet. Press filter housing tabs toward passenger compartment. Lift out filter element and frame as an assembly.

There's a great post in vwvortex complete with photos on how to get to the filer and clean it out. You'll have to scroll down the post about 1/3 of the way and look for "old ghost' as the name in the margin...
