dakota box swap

hey guys ive just picked up a 1990 dodge dakota 318 regular cab. the box is rusted around the rear wheel wells and i was going to buy front fenders and cut them to fit but today i came across a whole box off a '97-'04 dakota and i bought it real cheap. i was wondering if anyone has done this swap?

will the tail gate fit or will i have to look for that model gate?
