1988 "88" Won't start...Code 63???

Here's the deal. Got an 88 Olds 88. Yesterday I was driving and the belt flew apart. I ran down to autozone and grabbed a new belt. Soon as I start the thing up again It's running really rough. I go for a drive, after about a half hour it stalls out on me twice before dying completely. I cannot get it started back up. I've got gas but no spark. I tried replacing the coil pack (my dad had 2 other ones that were good from an old Olds he used to have) but no change. The only thing I get when checking the trouble codes is a code 63......and I guess thats for the EGR system??? I can see how the EGR would let the thing die out, but I would imagine that it would start back up after it cooled down right? I don't know what else to do. What else could it be? I mean, the thing ran GREAT before the belt broke yesterday. The only other thing I could think would really cause such a problem would be the crank sensor, and from reading other posts in here, I see that the crank sensor won't put out a trouble code. Is there any way to test the crank sensor? I saw a post mentioning something about testing it with a multimeter, what readings would I be looking for and where do the leads go? Any other Ideas that would be causing my problem? Thanks in advance guys, I'm new here and that car is the only vehicle I have to get me around till I get my Jimmy running (I have an 89 S15 Jimmy I'm doing a V8 swap on)

It is hard to say exactly. You could unplug the egr connector to see if that helps.
It could be a variety of things including but not limited to:
Crank Sensor
Cam Sensor
TPS
ICM
Coil
since the belt exploded It would be fair to guess the belt took out the Crankshaft Positioning Sensor since it is sticking out near the balancer.
Actually this is a good item to replace anyway since they are notorious for failing on the LG3 and LN3 3800s.
MAKE SURE YOU DO THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR AS WELL WHEN YOU HAVE IT ALL APPART.
Since it does not start anymore I would put my money on the crank/cam sensors.

Ok, I took a look down there, I see the Crank sensor, it looks untouched.......I noticed something I didn't see before though, there is a piece of belt wrapped around the harmonic balancer, like tight, i cant pull it off. I'm wondering if the piece of belt could be jammed in and cutting of signal from the crank to the sensor? Don't know, just a thought. Where exactly is the Cam Sensor located?

Do you own a chiltons for this car...if not go buy one right now.
That should help you figure it out. btw the harmonic balancer is a PITA to take off so be ready for it.
