brake light won't glow

i have a 92 olds cutlass. im having problem with my brake lights. i put new blubs, a new brake light switch still nothing. they used to work when i first bought the car from a friend of mine. after a week a so they stop working one by one now i don't have any brake lights.

please can you tell me whats the problem, it a nice car and i don't want to junk it cause of that small problem. im getting frustrated with it cause i don't know whats going on.

hmmmm..... sounds like you may have some problems w/ the wiring.

yes i replaced all the fuses, and bulbs. if it's the wiring how can i fix that and were.

Check your turn signal switch. We had this problem on a 94 cutlass, the brake lites are wired thru the turn signal level and switch, it's a classic problem in these cutlasses, pull back on the turn signal indicator toward the back of the car and see if the lites come on, if so, thats your problem you have to replace the switch. To do that the steering wheel has to come off also.

Hey dhspring is most likely right about that, I just remembered a guy who had that same problem w/ the wiring in the steering wheel column and he had to replace it.

hey guy's thankx for the advice. that was the problem, i replaced the turn signal switch and now they are working now thankx for all the help guy's keep up the good work. you guy's give out good advice, now i don't have to go out and spend alot of money on having someone to just look at my car and tell me that might be the problem. thankx fellas.
