Interval Wipers

I have a 2004 LS6 with auto and interval wipers.
I don't really like the auto wipers - I just can't get used to how fast they sometimes operate. With RainX on the windows I just don't think they need to operate that fast.
Anyway the interval part of the wipers don't work at all. While my car was at the dealer for other work I asked them about the interval wipers and was told that the interval wipers aren't supposed to work. Huh!
Does anyone have knowledge about this? Why would you put interval marks on the wiper if it's now supposed to work?
Thanks - I'm a newbie here and look forward to receiving lots of good information from the board.

Did you read the owner's manual?

Yes I looked in the manual. Actually it has no directions on how to use the wipers - I guess by now everyone should know how to turn them on.
Just shows you where the wiper controls are.
Half the manual addresses how to use the GPS system that comes with the vehicle.

After I posted that, I looked in the electroic copy that the club keeps. You're right. There's not much there. "rotate knob to adjust speed of wipers".
I have the older system, so I'm not much help.
