flashing rear wiper buttons

Here's yet another wiper problem.
My wife drives a 1997 Caravan Sport. Great vehicle most of the time. Lately though we have noticed the buttons on the console are flashing constantly. Now what do I have to look forward to? Is this an electrical problem? The wipers still work fine. Unlike my 92 Caravan that has the wiper frozen in the vertical position. Any help would be great!

From Previous posts:
Try doing this: (to reprogram control panel)
1) Set BLOWER to HIGH
2) Set MODE to PANEL
3) Set TEMP to COLD
4) Press and hold WASH and REAR WIPER together, for 5 seconds.
There will be a series of flashing lights. When done, the REAR WIPER should be the only one flashing.
5. Press REAR WIPER to EXIT programming mode
If lights still flash,
Now try holding down the bottom two outside buttons one on left of panel and the one on the right. This runs the cool down test. You might have to run these test more than once. If the a.c. is not working properly you will fail this test.
This worked for me!
Forgot to mention, keep the a/c on high recirc

Thanks for the idea!
I've tried it and noticed that I now have all the lights flashing.
The heater & A/s both seem to alternate, is this the power down you described?
I can't get any of the lights to stop flashing...time for the repair shop?
Any ideas you might have, better than spending the bucks for the repair guy to flip a switch and charge $100.

Try disconnected your battery for a minute or two then reconnect it. This resets computers on some cars. Your ventilation system is controlled by a computer , I believe built into the control panel. Cheers!
