1994 lumina apv shorted

my temp sending unit wires were exposed from the exhaust manifold heat and shorted together. now no spark to the coil. checked all the fuses i know of can anyone point me in the right direction.

I'd wonder. If it was the sensor that the computer uses, it would have shorted the ECM to ground. They don't like that.

the exposed wires from the temp sensor sparked unfortunately the key was on when i found the problem they shorted together now no fire to the coil. sounds like the computer is a good place to start. thanks for your help

Lotsa parts stores can "bench test" the ECM now, so you're not gambling.

ok i may be playing with fire here but the positive wire that i saw short out to the ground wire i jumped a new positive to the end of this wire. my thinking was if there is a fusible link or something i couldnt see without gutting the wire harness i would supply power back through the line to see if everything powers back up. well it worked probably not the right answer but might help someone off the side of the road.

the fuseable links are located at the starter, where the main battery cable bolts to it. Also check the underhood relay/fuse center to see if one of the Maxi-fuses are burnt.

Help I bought this van with 134, on it the battery would,nt keep a charge. so i replaced the altenator It ran really good for about 3weeks now the battery is dead again and i can hear a whinning noise coming from the power doors do you think i have a short can this be disabled
