Door hinges - left/right interchange?

I have a '68 Chevelle with very worn hinges. Not just the pin bushings are shot, but the main position wheel is almost square from years of wear. By looking at the pass and drivers sides they look identical..........can I find a used hinge and if it's for the passenger side (easier to find those it seems) can I flip it upside down and use it on the drivers side? Also, did GM share these hinges with other models of the same era?

I'll answer my own question - finally got around to monkeying around with the hinge replacement. They aren't interchangeable, even by turning one upside down.
