HELP! efi to carb swap

I have a 91 camaro rs. It has a 305 tbi engine backed by a 700r4 lock up style transmission. I am in the process of putting a carbureted 350 in it but im not real sure i know what i am getting into. Anyone know what i need to swap out to make this work. Any suggestions would be greatly apreciated! thanks

put the 350 in place of the 305 and run all the same computer controls and induction. junk the carb idea. The Fuel injection setup is going to be a much better idea in the longrun. The two engines are externally exactly the same, so it will be a bolt in swap.

Make sure the 350 has centerbolt valve covers, because older 350's dont have the angle intake bolt and dont always bolt up. Otherwise it will be simple, make sure compression is the same or you will have to remap your ecm. If you go carb. ditch the 700r4 and run a TH350 driveline should fit if not any 80/81 maro d.l will work. B&M sells a kit to mount the torque arm to the TH350, make sure and put the bracket on before tranny goes in, will save you massive headache.

Most chevy 305/350's (with a few exceptions, i.e. corvette) pre '87 did not have the centerbolt valve covers. If you have an older motor, the two center-most intake bolts on either side will be at a different angle than those on the engine you're replacing. You will have to either get a different intake, or modify those bolt holes in your existing intake to make it fit, and keep the TBI setup.

Most pre '87 heads without centerbolts don't have the canted centerbolts either which would be required to run the tbi/tpi setup without modification, not to mention the vortec style heads are one of the best OEM heads around.
