I want to upgrade my speaker system.
Has anyone replaced their stock speakers with these? http://www.crutchfield.com/S-B9fvkjy4tGf/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?i=20605KS60&search=kicker+ks60

If so do they sound better and fit right?
What have you upgraded to?

Any info will be great. I really hate stock!
Thank you

Are you adding an amplifier?

If you are replacing the speakers only -- driving them from the OEM radio -- for the same price, you might want to consider the Infinity Reference 6012i or si, http://tinyurl.com/dgq4d

They have 2 dB higher sensitivity, and a 3W RMS lower minimum power requirement. Both specs mean they are more "efficient," and hence may produce better audio from a low-power source.

If you are adding an amp, the Kicker's are fine (although if you drive them really loudly, the Infinity's do have a higher max power rating).

With either speaker, expect better sound and some loss of volume throughout the range. The superior materials in these speakers produce better sound than the paper cones in the factory speakers, they really require more power to drive them properly than what the radio puts out.

Well, ironically people think changing out the speakers in any vehicle is the majic cure-all but it isn't. You'll have a more profound difference changing out the OEM stereo for a quality piece. Trust me, I own my own shop and have seen it many times.

If you swap out the speakers, one thing that can happen is a decrease in bass responce. This lies in with what Balboa is saying. If the new speakers have too big of a motor structure for the stock radio, the sound won't be as nice as you'd think. Yes, the tweeter will make it seem to be more clearer but the bass responce will be lacking and might actually seem worse than the OEM speakers.

Obviously I've done alot to my vehicles but the very first thing I did was yank the OEM stereos and sell them on EBay!
