theyre useless if youre going less weight. Theyre basically aluminum with a carbon fiber coating, just like chrome wheels. if you just want em then check in any import magazine they usually have at least one ad with em.

Yeah they actually weigh more. Shouldn't be long before they make all cf rims though. They already to for bikes.

but cars are alot heavier, hit one pothole and u need a new rim. I know someones gonna say "well carbon fiber is so strong it wont break (in a geeky voice)". But it does not bend, it just cracks, all u need is a rock to hit ur hood and it cracks like glass.

Yes they make them.
01Designsystems or 01systemdesigns it's one of those two. I'm pretty sure it's the first one. www.01designsystems.com (http://www.01designsystems.com)

all CF rims would be strong enough for track use, but like he said, one bad bump and your rim will split in half.

im still waiting to see those motorcycle rims with no center, they just have like a little lip that rotates around the circle of the rim. its almost impossible to explain them, but if you see them, you would shit your mouth, yesa your mouth, cuz your ass cant handle a rim like this, ill see if i can find a pic.

I have some rims that are only 13lbs... and they aren't carbon fiber...

I think if i were to get carbon fiber rims i would be too paranoid to ever drive with them. Spending that much money and then having them break... scary shit...

Yeah, there not going to be wise for steet use for a while, and there not going to look like what you think carbon fiber looks like, looks more along the lines of what carbon brake rotors look like, granted they may have a outter layer that looks like "carbon fiber".

and once everyone finds out u have carbon fibre rims....u'll never see a pair disappear so fast

Are there such things as light good looking rims that are street dependable?

good thing u didn't throw in cheap

i still prefer axis mag-lites...the 15x7s weigh 11lbs and the 17x7's weigh 14lbs

TheSilentChamber

those mag lites are sexy, I would be running those but they dont come in 16", 17 is too big, and 15 wont fit over my brakes.

never figured out why they never offered in 16 :dunno:

Oh yeah, if cheap isn't a requirement... Racing Hart makes light weight rims, but you'd have to sell your left nut or possibly both for all four rims... then there's tires too...

SSR competitions are 8.8lbs for 15's 11 for 17's.

and also thanks for finding those bike rims, that would be sick on a car.
