Question Bout Battery Relocation/Feedback in Sub

OK... i'm runna B16 with CAI in my crx, and had to stick the battery in the trunk. the main wire is ran under the passenger paneling along the frame, and it's grounded to the trunk (exact spot in where the stock jack sits). I'm runnin a JL amp and a 10" kicker w/ rockford wiring. but problem a is when i hooked up my headunit, it doesn't need to be grounded... that confused the hell outta me. the ground wire isn't connected to shit, and it still works like its supposed to. problem B is that when I turn the sub on i get A LOT of feedback, like a vibrating machine gun. i've searched around, and found a few things, people sayin most likely it's the power wire to close to the RCA's, but that's bout it, nothin really on solvin the problem. i need some help cause my system w/o the beats is killin me

no... really :p If you are talking about the power wire for the amp and the signal wire, it doesn't matter at all their proximity to each other.

If it's the main wire from the battery in the back to the starter/alternater in the front, it can be an issue, but it doesn't sound like that kind of a problem.

I would go ahead and make sure your head unit is installed correctly, because it's grounding *somewhere* otherwise it wouldn't power on. It could be a dirty ground, though, and be affecting your amp.

Another thing to try is putting a ground loop isolation cable between the HU and the amp... like this (http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F007%5F013%5F000%5F000&product%5Fid=270%2D054). If there are ground loop issues with the car, that should take care of any wierd noises.

There are many people and sites that say to keep the rca siganl cable at at least 2-3' from any heavy power cables. Also keep the RCA cable away from the fuel pump as it could cause the warbling sound. Get a good set of twisted double or triple shielded RCA cables. I have double shielded stinger hyper series RCA's running on top of my fuel pump and i dont hear any sound distortion. I know it's not an ideal spot for them to run but it hasn't affected the sound so far.
