The fastest I've gone so far has been about 125 mph. My sentra ser got up to it pretty quick and i had a passenger too. I would have gone faster, but my car has really bad brakes and the alignment is off. I talked to to another ser owner who says he got his up to 130mph. That's fast for a car that weighs just over 2000 lbs. when my car is fully modified with stock motor I want to reach 139

I think you should consider changing your nickname to "ryanisn'ttosmart".
I drive fast, I mean really fast, and I'd never consider doing this without perfect brakes, steering, suspension and tires rated for hi-speeds. Even with everything in perfect order, I drive with total awareness of everything around me to put the odds in my favor and never consider driving fast with a passenger as that would distract me from my driving.

i've gone 135 in my mom's VW Turbo Beetle, and that thing is smooth. It's funny though, going 95 in my POS Sundance, I felt like I was on the edge of death. White knuckled, sweating...not smart, but 135 in the VW was nothing. I felt totally comfortable and in control. Just goes to show how well made any german car is, whether it's VW or a BMW.

I had my completely stock 91 civic 4-door going 115 after I bought it, and my 95 altima did 110 on monday. Both times lasted all of about 2 seconds before I let off the pedal. I always start thinking about tire failure or other such fatal things.

Agreed, though I have gone 140 in 2 different cars with the owners as passengers (2004 Subaru STi and a well modded 2002 WRX with about 340 whp), but here's the difference:

THIS WAS ON THE BACK STRAIGHT (3/4 mile long) AT MOSPORT PARK. I AM AN HPDE INSTRUCTOR. There were corner workers, the cars are well maintained and prepped, and it was a controlled environment.

Driving at triple-digit speeds on public roads is idiotic.

whats fun in life without a little bit of danger, ive been 145 in my friends 93 cobra with nitrous, i was driving it on a long stretch of expressway at about 11am in the morning and there was barely any traffic, i did lose the hood due to forggetin to scure the hood pins before the ride but it was totally worth it

Taking ANY innocent bystanders out fi you blow a tire is not cool, especially if the person maintaining the car is not mechanically inclined enough to make sure the hood pins are latched prior to driving 45 MPH, never mind 145.

you know what they say, "to be old an wise, you must first be young and stupid"

yeah, Well, I now have a prelude si and took it up to 130mph. But everything in that car functions perfectly. The car even handles nice at 130. Cruising down the freeway at 3 in the morning. It was fun and only dangerous to myself because I was the only one on the freeway for at least a 1/4 mile strech.

Surely, speed satisfies like nothing else. :) I've hit 110MPH in my Summit (sig) while still in 4th gear. It probably over-revved though, not too sure. It can definitely go much faster if you give it the road, time and have the guts to really mash down and not let go.

Concerning your experience:

Me, personally, I NEVER do anything stupid while I have passengers, if there are any other cars around or if my car is not in tip-top shape (IE., bad brakes, low tread, low fuel, bad oil, etc...). The result could be either a FUBAR'd car, or even worse, death.

My mentality: If ANYONE should get hurt or killed because I was being stupid, it better be me and ONLY me.
