Hello all,
I have a 86 jeep with a 2.8L chevy engine in need of a overhaul.
in the past few years ive learned quite a bit about swaping things arround. but when it comes to a chrysler-chevy, im puzzled.
My question is I have a perfictly good 3.1L chevy engine which came out of a 91 chevy bretta. does the 2.8L and the 3.1L have the same exterior bolt pattern, ie. tranny, alt, p/s pump, ect. for the jeep?
I know that on a 88 to 93 chevy bretta/corsica these engines are the same. I realize the heads, intake, exhaust manifolds would need to be reused from the jeep motor, as well as the manual fuel pump changed to a electric. what about the flex plate? the 2.8L is externaly balanced! I don't know about the 3.1L. Please help. any advice would be very much appreciated.
