engine problems

I recently purchased a balance shaft eliminator kit and removed my balance shafts in accordance with the instructions on vfaq, it ran fine for a while then i began to notice an oil leak, not sure where it's coming from but i know it's under the timing belt cover, anyways i was driving my car while it was leaking oil and right when i got home my oil light came on so i parked my car and added some motor oil, but when I started the car again i notice that the engine sounded extremely weird, it sounds just like a diesel engine. It is now extremely loud!!!!!! All i can hear is rattling. What the heck is wrong with my engine????

You probably lost too much oil and fucked your bearings. DSM's dont like low oil!!! You should have been watching the oil level when you first noticed the leak! By the time that low oil light comes on, its usually already way to low in the first place!
