1. Incubus
2. The Doors
3. The Strokes
4. The Who
5. Weezer
i like a lot of early 90's punk stuff too but i dont really like any one band from that time mor than any of the ones i posted here. metallica is a close runner up on the list. along with jimmy eat world. weezers new stuff is kinda dissapointing if you ask me but their first album was so damn good it makes up for everything else. i like the second one some too.

I honestly thought about it Josh. I used to be obsessed with them my freshmen and sophmore year, but I've moved away from them. Still got all their shit though - great band. They were one of my first black metal bands that I listened to a lot (started on them freshmen year) - but like I said, I think I just over-listened or something, cause I've moved onto other stuff since. Still badass band though, and I've still got about 1/2 their songs memorized.

weezer definitely number 1 on my list, but the rest no particular order
Weezer- i have all their albums. i especially like the blue album and pinkerton... both masterpieces. the rest of their stuff is ok. it takes some listening to them to really appreciate them. their newest album, make believe, seemed like it would be the lowest point of their career after i listened to it the first time, i hated it. But now i love it. Theres just something about weezer that makes you love their music whatever it sounds like.

Ozma
Green Day

Well, headbangers, you are boring, try some Wishbone Ash or Powder Blues band, at least they have talent, and don't just strum distorted strings and chords around.

Meh, I largely disapprove of "metal" these days.
However, I wont say no to a live show... shit gets wild .. good energy.

We don't find it boring, it's what we like. Just because you don't like it, does not mean it's boring.

this is just my top 5 at the moment. the list changes alot.
1.)Coheed and Cambria
2.) From First To Last
3.) Saosin
4.) Scary Kids Scaring Kids
5.) Underoath.
i've got a shitload of other bands that i love/listen to, but right now those are the 5 that i've been listening to the most lately. Coheed and Cambria is usually always in the list, since they're my favourite band over-all.

Nirvana - have everything they've ever released, Bleach is one of the greatest albums of all time
Pink Floyd - I have every studio album, 6 shirts, PJs, and been to a laser show, if you don't have Dark Side you don't have squat
The Velvet Underground - their debut album (The Velvet Underground and Nico) is the album that all punk rock has been based off of. Go buy White Light/White Heat right now you fool, listen to the first loud album ever and still one of the loudest and filthiest albums ever recorded. It might drive you insane a little bit
Husker Du - fastest band ever. Today's "punk" is terrible. All the bands sound the same and it's too bad everybody seems to listen to them. You want some real punk, buy Zen Arcade or Metal Circus by Husker Du. Slaughters all "punk" to come after Nirvana. Good for the soul.
Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, The Beatles, AC/DC, Metallica, Pantera, Hendrix, Sonic Youth (just listened to Daydream Nation), The Stooges, Dinosaur Jr., Steely Dan, Ramones, King Crimson, Coldplay (except for X & Y, all the songs sound the same), and I used to be a Led Zeppelin fan, in fact I still have everything they've ever released but they really bore me now

i don't get what's so hard to understand about the saying "if you don't like it, don't listen to it". many many people seem to completely ignore, or not follow, this advice.
there are alot of us here who are fans of what you would call "new punk". we like it and that's why we listen to it. if you don't like it, then of course that's your own opinion and i can't change it. but there's no point in you coming in here and preaching/bashing the stuff that alot of us love. no-one really wants to hear it. there are alot of genres of music that i don't like but i keep my mouth shut because i know this forum is very diverse.
