Modified Si vs GSR

Here are the contestants....
2001 Integra GSR with AEM Cold Air Intake and "secret weapon" exhaust system. He won't tell me what brand his exhaust is and he tells us all he has is intake and exhaust. His car is dropped 2 1/2" with ground control coilovers/springs (?) That's all performance wise.

1999 Civic Si with AEM Cold Air Intake, DC Sports ceramic coated header, Neuspeed 8.5mm wires with Platinum +4 plugs, AEM fuel rail. His car is dropped 1.5" with Tenzo adjustable coilovers. Hercules tires p215's.

The 2001 GSR has two 10" subwoofers and an amp, and they're both running on stock rims.

I was the flag. My friend in the 99 si jumped the count dropping the clutch at 5500 rpm, and the GSR dropped the clutch at 2500 rpm about half a second to a second later but still went for the race. Supposedly, from both drivers, the GSR was catching up in second gear and pulled in third. The Si was about 2 1/2 cars to 3 car lengths ahead.

Does this GSR sound stock? When we met up at a restaurant, the driver of the GSR cracked a joke about catching up in second saying, "That's what cam gears and nos does..." But he was laughing and said he was just messing with us.

What do ya'll think?

Did you look under the hood of his car for any NOS solinoids? I don't think cam gears itself will do anything unless he also got cam shafts.

Cam gears can do so much for you, but only if you know what your doing. IMHO I say the gsr driver sucks. Back when I first got my si, I raced a couple lightly modded gsr's and always ran a little short.

Completely unrealted here, but in the 15.7 LS post that got completely off track, you later got a ID which was "S2corollaR" was this you?

If I'm understanding correctly, the GS-R came back from a 2-3 length deficit, and pulled on the SI. That is somewhat believable if the SI driver wasn't driving the piis out of the car like he should. I remember when I first got the prelude, and was still getting used to driving it, I had a friend with a '01 gs-r and he used to ass-rape me left and right. a gs-r can be very fast in the hands of the right driver. I have also see the same guy beat quite a few SI's by numersous car lengths.

The GSr should be the one who is up ahead, and why would you launch up so high for the si? 5500 rpms? dumb people...Only for slicks your rev that high..But over all, the GSR shuldof been ahead no matter what if the si has them little mods, HSr shuld of played it,..Sucky driver for sure!

cam gears don't do anything for your car unless you have access to a dyno, cam gears can actually hurt your performance
