tranny replacement ideas?

Hey everybody, new to the forum. I have a 2000 V-6 3.8. I am in the market for a new tranny(blown) I've got about 90k on her. Does anyone know what I can put in? Would a 4.6 GT, or Cobra fit? Any other upgrade ideas since I have to replace it anyway? Thanks a lot everyone. Hope to hear back.

how did u manage to blow ur tranny after only 90k? but anyway if your looking for a tranny that will hold a lot of power you could go with a T-56 which is used on the viper and cobra. or just get another T-5 if your not looking to hold a ton of power

How about the t-45, or any other trans suited for the GT, or Cobra? Would a GT or Cobra OEM fit my 3.8? Thanks.

P.S. Not sure how it went after only 90k to tell you the truth. I did my fair share of beating on it when I first got it (17 miles, I bought it new) But to tell the truth, I have been really easy on it lately. I check everthing regularly, and the only think I can think of is that after the last check (NOV) it may have slowly started leaking. It went in February, and anyone who lives in Chicago knows its not too fun checking fluids that time of year. Its kept outside, and I may think some freezing had something to do with it. Not exactlly sure. Thanks for the help everyone.
