blowing smoke at boost :(

it's been fairly nice here. around 70 - 80 degrees. and i'm always driving with the top down now. well i noticed that every time i boost the car to anything past 12psi i blow smoke. when i'm in vac/low boost, no smoke. i've had multiple people tell me i'm burning oil just from the smell of the smoke. i also know that my exhaust smells kind of shitty. it's been smelling shitty for a while now. just like today, i entered my neighborhood, redlined it in 1st, let off to come to the stop sign. when i stopped, the smoke caught up to me and i was covered in it. it's kind of a dirty blueish color. i was thinking - turbo, piston ring(s), headgasket, or valve stem seals. any input? there aren't any other problems. the car runs like a raped ape. pulls strong and hard for the t25. what i don't understand is - (most of you probably already know this) the motor, turbo, tranny and damn near everything else has only around 30,000miles on them and 1 1/2 years old. i do run it hard every now and then but 90% of the time i baby it because gas prices are outrageous.

There are simpler causes of smoke too, like clogged/stuck PCV valve, etc. If you cant be certain its oil, also check into the typical boost leak type things. At least make an effort to eliminate the simpler things, so you can feel better about looking into the more costly options if it comes down to that.

the pcv valve has about 10k miles on it...i guess it wouldn't hurt to spend the $2 on a new one....as for boost leaks. i've been wondering about this....i've checked, double checked and rechecked. i HAD a huge leak in my old LICP, but got a new one. i just checked for any leaks the other day and couldn't come across any....although - if i'm in, say, 2nd gear and get to around 3,000 rpms and floor it, it pulls pretty good...but if i just gradually press the throttle to say 3/4 it seems to pull much harder. i don't understand that. it holds boost through all gears to about 5500 or so. in 5th gear, at WOT it holds a STEADY 16psi. the gauge doesn't budge till i let off. also, i noticed something the other day when i was checking for boost leaks...i can't really describe what this piece looks like but i'll do my best....
kind of looks like a solenoid. vac lines run to it. it's bolted to the body of the car, behind the motor. near the driver side more. anyway, one of the vac lines wasn't connected. i looked closer and seen why. one of the nipples was broke off. what is this? is it important? if you don't know what i'm talking about, let me know, i'll get a pic of it.

thanks for the help

EDIT >> i found out what nipple was broken off....it's on the EGR solenoid, the nipple on the left. a vac line with green lines on it is suppose to plug into here. does this NEED to be connected? is it imperative that i get a new EGR solenoid?

If the EGR system isnt functioning on a 2g, the MDP sensor should pick up on that and toss a CEL. Thats about the worst of it. Sounds like you have the boost leaks nailed down anyway, move on to some other potential causes.
