Left key on all day and ran down battery. Recharged battery and now no spark based on my trusty Timing Light. Had previouslyreplaced distributor and crankshaft position sensor. Has anyone else had this problem or can tell me how to ohmmeter the coil? Any other ideas appreciated.

What year? Do a load test on the battery. Or replace the battery, if no access to test equipment or a parts store that can test this for you.

OK, I replaced the battery , but the problem is unchanged. No spark. The engine turns over fine and ran fine until I left the key on while rolling up the window because of rain.

My Cherokee and probably a lot of them have a serious problem getting a spark at times, due to a number of reasons. I thought I had them all at one time. The dealer replaced the crankshaft position sensor for the third time since I bought the car new in 1990. He also replaced the "electronic points" in the distributor twice and the entire distributor once. I have since replaced the distributor and crankshaft position center within the past year. The Cherokee is a Limited 90 model 6 cylinder ,automatic with 55,000 miles on it. I need to get it to run so I can put a water pump on it. Any assistance appreciated.
