It seems quite the opportunity for Ford to show Ferrari what they've got. All of these comparo's in magazinzes (360 vs. GT, F430 vs. GT) and Ford is in Ferrasri territory with it. So it makes no sense why there isnt already a GT racing the circuit's. BTW, when will Ferrari put an F430 into ALMS racing? So anyways, a race-ready Ford GT would be sick.

Ferrari will put an F430 into ALMS racing when a customer decides to buy an F430 and turn it into a GT spec race car or when Ferrari updates the 360GTC customer car to F430 spec.

Ferrari, as a factory, does not participate in sports car racing. They haven't participated as a factory since 1973 when the last 312PB was built. Since then, Ferrari has either sanctioned other companies (namely Lancia and Maserati) to race in sports car racing with their engines and chassis OR they have constructed customer cars for privateers.

Racing in ALMS is expensive.
If you want to win, you have to be willing to spend the $$$ to beat:
Audi in P1
GM in GT1
Porsche in GT2
The hole is in P2, which Porsche is hoping to take care of.

Audi, GM, and Porsche have put a lot of $$$ and development into these cars, and unless Ford is willing to outspend GM, which I don't see being very likely, then you won't see one running competitively in ALMS.

I hope the Ford Shelby GR-1 will be raced in ALMS.
